Fire Station Field Trip!

We, the Teipens and us, minus the men, got to go on a field trip to the fire station on the beach, courtesy of Mr. Darrell, who goes to our church and allowed us to come see it and give us the tour. He is the Battallion Chief so he gets to pick which calls he goes on, like if they are minor and don't need extra help he can just stay behind. Anyways, he showed us their "living quarters" for while they are there. Talk about a man cave. The living room and kitchen area is one big room and one side has about 10 recliners and they all face a big screen tv. Then they have a womans dream kitchen, it is huge. So then he took us outside and showed us all the trucks they have and a million different types of gear and supplies. I didn't realize all they carry, it was pretty neat. Mr. Darrell got all his gear out and put it on for the kids. When he put the mask on to protect his face and where he gets air through, Kymberly got scared and started backing up. By the end of it he gave the kids fire hats and and color books and they were excited. We got done a little early so we took the kids to St. Andrews to play at the park for a little while and then we took them to McDonalds for lunch. We enjoyed our day out and now we have to plan what next months field trip will be!
